Success Talks Workshop: Conflict Resolution

Conflict is an exchange of information. It’s how we tell someone what’s important to us, what we’re afraid of, or what we need. Conflict is the opportunity to find a deeper, more meaningful connection with someone.
So why does a fight often feel like an end-of-days battle scenario where we’re fully armored and swinging the biggest sword we could find, while our heartbeat sounds like a heavy metal soundtrack pounding in our ears?
Because we all want to be understood. That’s what we’re fighting for every single time. To have someone understand our sense of justice, or what we need to feel safe, or why our experience is important – the list goes on. This feeling of being understood is a cornerstone in our sense of belonging and acceptance. It feels like connection to the people who help ensure our survival and that’s why we often show up in conflict as if our life depended on it. Our need for connection assures us that it does.
So each side of the argument is someone asking to be understood and speaking it in a language that makes sense to them and their lived experience. This is your Fight Language.
There are five different Fight Languages and becoming fluent in them is a quick way to change important conflict in your life.

With the Fight Languages you’ll be able to:

•  Understand what someone is saying, behind how they’re reacting
•  Articulate your feelings and experience
•  Make conflict productive and feel more connected

Success Talks Workshop: Boundaries

In this workshop, we will delve into the art of negotiating your “yes” within the context of setting boundaries. We believe that being intentional and clear about the terms and conditions under which you agree to something is crucial for maintaining balance, well-being, and effective communication in various aspects of life—both personal and professional.

Key Concepts:

1.  Intentional Agreement: Negotiating your “yes” involves purposefully considering the terms and conditions of your agreement, ensuring it aligns with your own capacity and priorities.
2.  Communication of Needs: Participants will explore the importance of communicating needs, expectations, and limits even when expressing agreement. This proactive communication forms the foundation of healthy boundaries.
3.  Scope and Conditions: Using practical examples, such as helping a colleague on a project, we’ll discuss how negotiating your “yes” includes defining the scope of tasks, establishing timelines that work for you, and communicating any conditions or constraints you may have.
4.  Unconditional vs. Conditional Yes: Understanding the distinction between an unconditional and a conditional “yes” is vital. Negotiating your “yes” ensures that it is not given without thoughtful consideration and that others are aware of the boundaries you have in place.
